A few things worth knowing before you join us. If there’s something we haven’t covered, our team would be happy to help.

As much as we love spontaneity, The Tropic requires a reservation.

Book ahead, settle in and give yourself plenty of time. Around here, lunch has a habit of becoming afternoon.

The Tropic is a full-service, à la carte restaurant in Burleigh Heads, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, considered wine list and reservations available.

The Pav offers a more casual, walk-in experience within the Burleigh Pavilion precinct. Different moods, same spectacular outlook.

Parking around Burleigh Heads is limited and many nearby spaces have a three-hour limit. We recommend allowing a little extra time, or better yet, leaving the car behind and arriving by taxi or rideshare.

One less reason to watch the clock.

We have a full food and beverage menu, so outside food and drinks aren’t permitted.

Celebrating something special? You’re welcome to bring a birthday cake. Just let our team know when making your reservation.

We like to let the ocean do most of the decorating. To help protect our coastal environment, balloons and confetti aren’t permitted. If you’re celebrating, floral arrangements for the centre of your table are very welcome.

As The Tropic is a restaurant, pets aren’t permitted inside the venue. Certified service animals are, of course, welcome.

Absolutely. Little ones are welcome at The Tropic when dining with a parent or responsible adult.

If you’re planning to continue into other areas of the Burleigh Pavilion precinct afterwards, please be aware that conditions for minors may vary depending on the day, time and events taking place.

Burleigh Pavilion & The Tropic’s dress code is smart casual. We may be flexible on this during the day and in quieter periods. However, it is stricter when busy and at night. If in doubt, dress in smart casual attire, or you may be refused.

We are a family friendly and community-oriented venue.

Guests with tattoos are welcome at our venue and we respect the significance of all cultural and religious tattoos.

We treat all guests with tattoos equally and management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person with head, face or neck tattoos. Discretion may be used depending on size and nature. Covering up these tattoos does not allow entry.

Our approach to tattoos is consistent with that of similar licensed venues in Queensland and is in place to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry generally.

Burleigh Pavilion often charges a small door fee on busy nights or special events, depending on the entertainment booked, foot traffic out front and/or numbers inside. Our best advice is to get in early before the crowds.

Yes. Reservations are required at The Tropic, and we recommend booking in advance, particularly for weekends and popular lunch and dinner times.

Monday to Thursday: 12pm until late
Friday to Sunday: 11am until late
